Lanci was born in Huntington, NY, and lived his pre- college years in East Northport, NY. Lanci was raised by Albert and Elaine, and is one of two children, Brianna. He played baseball, cross- country, and wrestling in his younger years, and ultimately ended up at The University of Tampa from 2009 through 2015. Lanci capped off his career at UT by being selected as the May 2015 Commencement Challenge Speaker for his MBA graduation.

 

"In 2013, an intoxicated driver struck me, just days before what should’ve been my last Undergraduate semester. The hospital wasn’t sure I’d make it through the night, let alone of having the honor of creating this page. I woke from a coma after a week, and was forced to take a medical leave, suffering significant brain injuries, a broken tibia, and fibula. An estimated full year recovery, sleepless nights, and countless therapy sessions, taught me that I could either sit and sulk, or thrive on my “second life”. Through the grim task of staying focused on my future, I enrolled in summer classes that same year. I will never forget my mothers face as I walked across the stage in the 2013 spring commencement for my Bachelors of Science in Finance, or later speaking at commencement for my MBA. I want to use my story to help inspire positive changes in the world"- Lanci
